Petroleum engineer goes to field

Attention to Petroleum Engineering 2014 (regular)
As per programmed, Petroleum and geology subject will held a geoscience trip into palaran area to complete a basic skill of petroleum & geology engineering.
These are full details.

Venue : Palaran Stadium area
Date : around March 27, 2016
Participant : around 60 student
Basic tool : Compass Geology, GPS, lup, basic map, HCL 10%, sample bag, Comparator, Sediment hammer.

Basic competence : every student have to pass some basic subject, Physical geology (basic geology), Sedimentology, Petrology and Structure geology.

What will student get : From this field trip, we hope every student will cover:
1. Understanding how's petroleum system in Kutai basin work.
2. Understanding how to use geological compass properly include to measure line and planes structure, azimuth, slope etc.
3. Able to details describe a sediment rock and determined what's their primary structure.
4. Able to build up a geology map.
5. Experts in basic geology mapping in Balikpapan.

For your information, there will be no a writing final exam unless a full presentation of your map.
